  5. Great place but very poor client service and communication

    Positive: Location and the space is great. Being able to enjoy the hotel facilities (bus to the ski station, etc) is also great Negative: The client service and communication of Hostenga is very poor. They say the link with booking does not work well but - they don’t answer booking messages - you can’t speak to anyone via phone and can only leave voice message. They have never responded to the many messages I have left in the 10 days before our stay - they keep sending automatic emails saying we did not pay (while we did) and threaten to cancel the booking… but never answer to calls or messages to clarify the situation - while there, the local person to help us checking in is great

  17. The remote hosts - Hostenga Europe - were truly dreadful

    Positive: The appt was well equipped with kitchenware etc. Ligting and decor is modern and nicely done. The shower was warm and excellent. Negative: We booked based on location, parking and wifi. This studio is remote hosted, meaning no person available in Megeve and an organisation called Hostenga in charge. The studio is within a mountain hotel that was practically abandoned for the Summer season, no reception. So when the wifi didn't work there was no one to fix it and I was on a working whilst travelling visit. The studio also doen't get much of a data signal. The remote Hostenga person tried and failed to get the problem fixed and gave up. She said she would find us some money back compensation, but didn't. Beware too, there is a damage deposit required (for us this was £339) in addition to the cost of the stay. This was returned a disgraceful 2 weeks after our stay completed - should have been immediate. Other issues - the sofa bed is not very comfortable, the location is up the mountain side and quite a hike into Megeve, the parking garage was badly explained by Hostenga so hard to be sure we had arrived. There's a really long code for the fiddly front door lock, the summer atmosphere is one of decay and abandonment. This was a truly soulless experience and the hosting company could not have cared less. Our contact, Marie Odile, seemed to care and sent considerate messages but her employer is appaling. The owner of the studio is being badly let down by Hostenga.
