  5. Great trip, the negatives minor and the lack of snow just one of those things. We still skied!

    Positive: Breakfast not applicable. Apartment block is in a great central location and the apartment is pretty and well laid out. Lovely views Quiet location Negative: We made it clear we were booking as a family of 4 - and of course were booking a 3 bed apartment but there were only 2 towels at the property even though a 3 bedroom apartment. We were told by our host that we would have to pay 30 Euros to have two more towels dropped off which we don't feel was acceptable. The TV is not working at all, which is frustrating as it is advertised as a facility.

    However, the management company Hostenga is a bit rough. Nice enough on the phone but trying to retrieve my deposit or any information around it is a black hole. Post checkout: it has been almost 90 days and I still have not received my security deposit. Their last reply 60 days ago was about some melted plastic from the toaster and they have been holding the deposit of 600EUR until a repair professional can assess the damage. From Hostenga "Please find attached a picture which displays a kitchen furniture item that was found to be burned. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to secure an appointment with a professional to assess the repair cost at an earlier date. The earliest appointment that we were able to schedule is for the week of April 10th. As soon as we receive the repair estimation, we will calculate the amount to be blocked and refund the difference to you." VRBO Support is a bit spotty, PayPal support is non-existent

    Great apartment. Has everything you need. Very close to Brevent, Folie Douce, Center of the city including bars and restaurants. Very easy to access - the owner gave us all the instructions in a very timely manner. Was also very helpful answering all of our questions. Highly recommend!

    Positive: The location is perfect, just a block from the city center, supermarket and stores. Having 3 separate rooms. well ventilated and having 2 bathrooms a full kitchen and very nice view Negative: The bathroom at the room was very small and leaks, walls need painting, and bunk bed mattress is really bumpy. But overall the good things overcome this ones!

    The apartment is in a wonderful location, right downtown. A beautiful view of the church and front-row seats when the bells ring! The apartment is clean and there are many useful things on site (fondu site, coffee makers...). It is spacious and pleasant for a large group. The bed in the middle room is quite uncomfortable, though, and very very creaky. Unfortunately, communication was lacking. We received no responses to our messages through AirBnB so it was difficult to prepare. I don't know if this was due to the host or AirBnB but when I mentioned it to her when she finally sent me a text message in the morning of our check-in, she seemed unsurprised/unbothered. We also forgot our daughter's stuffed animal under a cushion and never heard back from the host regarding if it was found, which was a disappointing end to the lacking communication. All in all a wonderful location and nice apartment, but the lack of communication took away from the experience.

    The place looks like it hasn’t been properly cleaned in over a year. The bathroom has mold growing. Socks dust bunnies and pharmaceuticals under the beds walls are dirty the stovetop has stuff burned onto it. All the baseboards have two mm of dust and dirt. The walls in the kitchen has not been wiped down in years. I would not rent this place out if it was mine. I would not stay there if it was free in its current state.

    Positive: No comment Negative: the host HOSTENGA charged me outside booking and charched extra money for the transference (both times). also took more than a month to reimburse me back all the deposit (600€) plus I had to pay for his fault (transaction fees). Also, when I had to leave, the host did not even allow me to stay for even 5 min longer in the parking space filling the trunk of my car!!! good home but terrible experience with HOSTENGA

  63. Excellent apartment overlooking the Mont Blanc mountain

    Positive: This apartment was very central to all amenities such as the shopping street and F&B outlets . U supermarket just 1 min walk away from the apartment. Its also 25mins walk to Aiguille du Midi cable car station as you dont have to park n pay at the cable car station. Quite a few fantastic bakery along the shopping street 5min walk away. This apartment provides free parking at B2 and do take note if u coming by a MPV as its quite narrow drive into the carpark. Easy to check in and out with helpful advise from the staffs. Negative: Only provided 1 roll toilet paper n 2 small tubes of shower n shampoo each for my family of 5 pax for my 3 days stay.

    L’appartement est situé idéalement à Chamonix-: on ne peut pas trouver mieux! L’appartement est également calme et lumineux. Le seul point négatif: le parking. Juste impraticable avec une longue voiture style Sharan. Il ne vous reste plus que l’option du parking payant pour 20€ par jour.

    Positive: The location is great - a very short walk into the centre with lots of restaurants and supermarkets. The balcony also has a beautiful view. It had everything we needed during our stay - we really enjoyed the space. Negative: Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with the person in charge of check out/cleaning. On our last night and the day of check out we were sent multiple rude and angry messages about having to take out our own rubbish. Even after informing him that we had paid a large amount (over $300) in cleaning fees - we were threatened to be reported and that we would have charges incurred. Thankfully we received all of our damage deposit back but this interaction really put a damper on an otherwise wonderful stay.

    Positive: L’emplacement est réellement au cœur de Chamonix, à deux pas du musée des cristaux, des commerces, et juste derrière le bureau des guides. L’appartement est agréable et moderne. Nous y avons trouvé une base très pratique et confortable pour les deux jours que nous avons passé à Chamonix. La remise des clés et la sortie se sont faits sans aucun souci avec une équipe à l’écoute et très flexible. Negative: L’appartement est très confortable; certains détails laissent penser qu’il est encore “en phase de conception” - Il gagnerait à être mieux meublé : dans la chambre des enfants, il y a un bureau qui est trop grand pour l’emplacement où il est: on ne peut pas s’y asseoir sans que la chaise bute contre le lit superposé; il est trop large pour qu’on puisse fermer les volets. - Je préfère qu’on puisse ouvrir les placards en grand - dans la cuisine, la porte d’un des elements bute contre la hotte; dans la chambre qui en est proche, l’une des portes du placard bute contre le lit, l’autre contre la porte de la chambre. - Je ne sais pas si on peut mettre un meuble contre un convecteur - chez moi j’eviterais. Le banc dans l’entrée, le bureau dans la chambre, ne passent pas à moins d’être placés devant le convecteur - la salle de bains a une vasque et un robinet modernes et élégants. Mais si l’on veut faire couler un filet d’eau, il tombe… en-dehors de la vasque! Tout cela fait un peu “non fini” Enfin, le prix est tout a fait correct. Le ménage de fin de séjour était prévu dès le départ: 192 euros, un budget important pour la durée du séjour et la taille de l’appartement. On pouvait donc s’attendre à ce que l’appartement soit très propre. C’est ce qu’il m’a semblé aussi. Mais la présence à table, à dîner, d’un cafard que nous n’avions pas invité et que nous avons jeté dehors, m’a fait douter… Les hôtes n’y peuvent sans doute rien, mais nous aurions apprécié d’être prévenus que l’appartement du dessus était en travaux. Nous avons passé la plupart du temps dehors mais si nous avions dû passer la journée en intérieur cela aurait été plus gênant.

    The location is undoubtedly the best, but unfortunately the only asset of this apartment. Underground parking - amazing as for Chamonix - as long as you don't realize that you have to descent down to level -2 and the ramp is super tight. If you drive something in a range of 2m wide and 4.8m long you'll have to step up your tight corner maneuverability. Parking sensor won't help as you'll be missing walls/corners by 2-5cm. The interior is worn out and pictures present it slightly better than it is. That wasn't a major drama as we've stayed only 2 nights. The problem we had was cleanliness of the apartment. Showers have long seen a thorough clean. There was dirt and hairs in the corners of rooms, under beds and radiators. Mattresses had stains all over. By the end of a stay we got an extensive text message what we're obliged to do before departing. Throw away trash (that's fine) and undo beds (which revealed stains). We've been staying with airbnb multiple times before and never had such a bad experience with "cleanliness".

    Attention, des travaux de rénovation dans l’appartement juste au dessus sont en cours qui font un bruit incessant. Hostenga qui gère l’appartement et les fameux concierges ne feront rien pour vous aider. Comme les commentaires précédents, nous confirmons que le parking est inutilisable à moins d’avoir une Clio. Les large rayures sur les murs du parking souterrain en sont la preuve. Pareil pour le ménage qui était très moyen malgré un prix faramineux par rapport à nos locations précédentes. L’apartement est tres bien situé juste derrière le bureau des guides. C’est l’atout principal. La cuisine est bien équipée. Le reste qui est décrit comme luxueux ne l’est pas (taches,..). Le service qui est fournit pas Hostenga (une grosse entreprise qui se targue de gérer des locations dans 25 villes à travers le monde), n’est pas à la hauteur. Notre concierge n’était pas disponible pour nous recevoir. Il n’y a aucune information à part le mot mot de passe de la wifi. Pour le départ même situation, la personne chargée du départ n’était pas disponible. On a juste eu droit à une liste de choses à faire tout en payant 185 euros de ménage. Hostenga clame une réponse en moins d’une heure. Ne pas compter la dessus surtout si vous avez un problème ou une question précise.

    A great, great location - so easy to walk 100m straight into the village. Lots of space in the apartment and easily accommodated our group of 5. As per the other reviews, cleanliness is an issue at this apartment. Old masks and other debris found under bedside tables, mold in on-suite shower, dirty dishes left in dishwasher, blood stains on duvet, pillows, and mattresses. Only one set of keys was given out for a family of five adults, parking very tight but manageable with a Honda CRV type vehicle. I would still recommend given location, but if you are offended by the above, then this might not be the accommodation for you!
